BREAST LIFT AT RADIANCE PLASTIC SURGERY
Breast Lift | Mastopexy Benefits
FIRMER BREAST APPEARANCE
While you want your breasts to sit high on the chest, you also want them to have a firmer look and feel. If you experience sagging, your breasts can feel elongated and deflated. When we lift the breasts, we provide them with new support so they can maintain their firm appearance.
MORE ATTRACTIVE BREAST SHAPE
Deflated breasts can lose the attractive shape you may be looking for in your breast appearance. They can take on a more tubular-like aesthetic as most of the tissue accumulates below the inframammary line. By lifting the breast tissue, we are able to restore a more attractive and supple breast shape.
IMPROVED NIPPLE PROJECTION
Many degrees of ptosis are identified by poor nipple projection. If your drooping breasts have nipples that point down toward the floor, a breast lift can help. By reshaping the breasts, we can also reposition the nipple-areolar complex, giving it a more natural, forward projection.
YOUTHFUL BREAST APPEARANCE
Breast sagging is common with aging and after pregnancy and weight loss. Since high, perky breasts are often associated with youthfulness, you may feel that your ptosis is significantly aging your appearance. With a breast lift, we can restore that youthful position and projection you desire.

What Is A Breast Lift | Mastopexy?
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Occasionally, the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well.
A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Weight fluctuations
- Aging
- Gravity
- Hereditary
A Bilateral Breast Lift (or Mastopexy) is performed to enhance the shape of the breast by redistributing the breast tissue and elevating the nipple complex. Mastopexy is a gratifying procedure for women who want a more youthful, “perky” look to their breasts. You must be aware that the trade-off is the appearance of permanent visible scars on the breasts. As well, sensation to the nipple region can be altered although this is usually temporary.
Breast Augmentation With Lift
It is common for patients getting a breast lift to get breast implants as well. Sub-glandular or sub-pectoral breast augmentation with silicone breast implants combined with a breast lift. Surgery typically takes 2-3 hours.
How Much Does A Breast Lift | Mastopexy Cost?
Each of our patient’s cases is unique, however, the average cost for a Breast Lift (Mastopexy) can range anywhere from $9,500 – $16,500.

Breast Lift | Mastopexy – The Procedure
How Should I Prepare For A Breast Lift Procedure?
In preparing for surgery, you may be asked to:
- Get lab testing or a medical evaluation
- Take certain medications or adjust your current medications
- Get a baseline mammogram before surgery and another one after surgery to help detect any future changes in your breast tissue
- Stop smoking
- Avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements as they can increase bleeding
What Are The Steps Of A Breast Lift Procedure?
Your breast lift procedure can be achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques.
The appropriate technique for you will be determined based on:
- Breast size and shape
- The size and position of your areolas
- The degree of breast sagging
- Skin quality and elasticity as well as the amount of extra skin
Step 1 – Anesthesia
Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure. The choices include intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Dr. Laliberte will recommend the best choice for you.
Step 2 – The incision
There are three common incision patterns:
- Around the areola
- Around the areola and vertically down from the areola to the breast crease
- Around the areola, vertically down from the breast crease and horizontally along the breast crease
Step 3 – Reshaping your breasts
After Dr. Laliberte makes the incisions:
- The underlying breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve breast contour and firmness.
- The nipple and areola are repositioned to a natural, more youthful height.
- If necessary, enlarged areolas are reduced by excising skin at the perimeter.
- Excess breast skin is removed to compensate for a loss of elasticity.
Step 4 – Closing the incisions
After your breasts are reshaped and excess skin is removed, the remaining skin is tightened as the incisions are closed. Some incision lines resulting from breast lift are concealed in the natural breast contours; however, others are visible on the breast surface. Incision lines are permanent, but in most cases will fade and significantly improve over time.
Sutures are layered deep within the breast tissue to create and support the newly shaped breasts. Sutures, skin adhesives and/or surgical tape may be used to close the skin.
Breast Lift | Mastopexy Results & Recovery
What Results Should I Expect After Breast Lift Surgery?
The results of your breast lift surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade.
Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recover from surgery. The final results of your breast lift will appear over the next few months as breast shape and position continue to settle. Incision lines are permanent but will continue to fade over time. The results of your breast lift surgery will be long-lasting. Over time, your breasts can continue to change due to aging and gravity.
You’ll be able to retain your new look longer if you:
- Maintain your weight
- Keep a healthy lifestyle
Recovery
During your breast lift recovery, dressings or bandages will be applied to the incisions after the procedure is completed. You’ll need to wear an elastic bandage or support bra to minimize swelling and support your breasts as they heal.
Most individuals take 4 weeks off from work to allow for recovery. If you do office work, you may be able to return as early as 2 weeks. Let your discomfort be your guide. You can resume normal activities by the end of 2 weeks. It will take 4 weeks to get back to significant aerobic or physical activity.
Breast Lift | Mastopexy Frequently Asked Questions
A breast augmentation will make your breast bigger. A mastopexy is a breast lift or breast tightening procedure that tightens up a breast that has a loose skin envelope. The two procedures are by no means mutually exclusive; in fact, Dr. Laliberte frequently performs combined breast augmentation with a mastopexy or lift. During your consultation, we will initially assess your goals; do you want a larger breast or a higher, tighter, firmer breast? Dr. Laliberte will then recommend the best way to proceed to achieve your specific goals.
Most patients find that a breast lift reduces or eliminates uncomfortable excess fat and skin under their arms and the sides of their chest, removes excess tissue and raises sagging breasts. You will also find that your bras fit better!
Depending on the amount of skin removed, most women can go back to work after breast lift surgery anywhere from 2 days to 14 days after their procedure.
The wide range is dependent more on what type of work the patient needs to be able to do. Heavy lifting or dirty work will typically require 14 days. Sedentary work requires only 2 -5 days depending on the amount of skin removed and how uncomfortable the patient feels with that degree of tightening.
As with any surgery, there is a risk of scarring after a breast lift. A crescent lift leaves minimal scarring that is hidden by pigment changes between the skin of the breast and the areola. Other breast lift techniques may leave thin horizontal or vertical scars on the breasts. These scars will fade over time and after one year with correct care and treatment as planned and specified by your healthcare team.
